ANIMATED GRAPHICS AND VIDEOS

Batman Logo Animation

This was my first time using Adobe After effects and I was tasked to animate the batman logo using transitions and keyframes. I had to create a keyframe where I wanted the animation to end and a keyframe where I wanted the animations to start, change the properties for the animation at the first chronological keyframe and then I used f9 to easy ease which basically soothed the transitions. I felt that I understood everything here as I used keyframes and transitions on Adobe Premier Pro for my "How To" video so it was self-explanatory. I am happy with the end product but I wish that I could have added a rain sound effect, possibly with thunder, and a batman song like na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN (yes you know the one).

Batman Logo Animation 2

For this, I wanted to improve my last video with the addition of audio. I found some stock rain sound on YouTube and converted it to audio-only. Then, I used iMovie, at home, to put the audio and video together. I was able to use some stock rain sound and I used a thunder sound as well to add to the atmosphere. I wanted to add the old batman music too but I felt that it didn't fit the tone I wanted for this short video. Even if I did want it I think I would have struggled to get a 10-second section that I liked and fitted. I really like the finished product as I feel that rain adds a lot and makes it feel complete as it isn't silent. I have also realised that iMovie is quite basic after using Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, I forgot that iMovie doesn't use shortcuts but it is a great software that's free on IOS devices.

Sony Logo Animation

This was my second time using Adobe After Effects. I tried to do different things in this animation to the batman logo video. For example, I changed the colour of the PlayStation logo and text from black to white, I moved the text in different directions rather than increasing the size and I also gave the two images drop shadows to give some depth. I don't like this video that much because I don't think that it looks right. It's hard to explain but I don't think the moving text fits my original vision and I don't really like the spin on the logo. I also would have liked to give the logo a gradient but I wanted to keep it feel like a Playstation video.

Avengers Logo Animation.

In this edit, I had to follow a video tutorial by Paul to animate the Avengers logo and a square. Firstly, I started off by using a dark background and a white solid with a starburst effect. The starburst effect made the white solid look like stars. I slowed the effect down as I thought that the star effect was too fast. Next, I added a white rounded rectangle that was empty and a stroke of around 30. I also increased the roundness of the shape to be more circular. After adding the Avengers logo png I made sure that it and the rounded rectangle where both aligned in the centre of the screen and changed the Avengers logo to white. For the animations, I started off by adding a "trim paths" to the rounded shape and changing the offset to the bottom middle and adding a keyframe 4 seconds later changing the start from 100% to 0%. To finish that part I selected both keyframes and used easy ease. This makes the shape start off nowhere and the drawing round anti-clockwise on screen. Then, I selected the logo and added a keyframe at 4 seconds and then another at 0 and changed the size of the logo. To finish off, I combined both layers together and made it so that it enlarged to a point where it all goes off-screen and it decreases in opacity.

I am really happy with the way this video turned out because I leant how to do new things when making it as I watched Paul's tutorial. I think that the starburst effect works really well to make it look like a space background. If I was to do this again I think that I would have made the Avengers logo and shape a different colour and once again added sound, specifically portals from Avengers: Endgame (even though it is copyrighted I could find a version).

Fifa 21 Logo Animation

With this animation, I was told to animate it. No guidelines other than how to edit parts of a single image individually. Firstly, I started by giving the logo a gradient as before I had only used flat colours and I also added a drop shadow to make the logo seem like it was in the air or at least closer to the screen than the pitches. Secondly, I duplicated the logo layer so that there were 8 logos and then used the pen to create boxes around the EA logo, each letter and number and the FIFA logo at the end. Now it came to animating each part. I started off the EA logo and moved the anchor point to as close to the middle of the circle so that the spin would stay in the same position. Next, I made it so that the F, I, F and A would go forwards then pop back a bit. Then for the 21 part, I had them fade in by changing the opacity as I have done before and a slower opacity fade for the FIFA logo at the end.

Overall I like this video but there are a few things that could have been better. First of all, the time between each of the letters in FIFA was not consistent and the FIFA logo at the end isn't that visible. As it was separated from the rest of the original image I wish that I enlarged it so that you could see it more. I think it was partly due to the gradient being a blue colour which blended into the background and the drop shadow makes the smaller parts more blurry.

Deadpool Animation

This animation was based off of the character information screen of the marvel website. I was able to create this by creating a document sized at 3000px x 2000px in a dark red. Secondly, I added the images, resizing them and all that, and made the background back and white white a camera blur (see more on the right). Next, I added text with a custom font download from Dafont called "Rogue Hero"  for the "deadpool" part and I used the half-tone version and another font, which I have forgotten the name of, for the Wade Wilson part. Then I added the transitions, I made it so the black shape moves down, Deadpool gets bigger and the background expands.

Trent Champions League Ad

Football players normally put a short video on their Instagram story to advertise the next game. This was my quick attempt of making one for my favourite player Trent Alexander-Arnold. I used Photoshop to create the graphics and After Effects to edit the video. I wish that I added the Champions League theme to it to add more depth.

GTA 5 Trailer Music

For this task, I had to use Garage Band to create some music that worked well with the trailer. I wanted the music to focus on the fun and exploration element of the game rather than the violence of it which is why the music is more upbeat than may be expected. I had only used Garage Band for around 30 minutes before creating this music and I think it turned out quite good. I wish that I could fade more of the music in and not just the start and the end as I think it works really well and should have been implemented more. Sadly, I didn't get any screenshots of the work on Garage Band.
